Student Success

"I used to struggle with refining my pieces of writing, especially with understanding how to thoughtfully incorporate context and analysis of techniques into my writing. And so, I wanted to find a tutor who could provide meaningful feedback that wasn't vague. Sydney helped me with exactly that, and I have become more confident in essay writing, as well as even more motivated to write in general! Sydney is kind and extremely helpful :)"

"Before joining the Accelerator program, I was unsure and unconfident in my English writing skills. Initially, I was getting around 75-80% on average with my marks. I wanted to join this program because I really wanted to bring out my full potential in English which is a subject I am really passionate for. I could never find a way to nail English as it is no formulaic like Maths or the sciences but with this masterclass, it really broke down English in a systematic way in which I was able to digest. I am much more confident in my English skills now as I know how to properly express my thoughts in a suitable manner with an essay and I am finding it now a lot easier to write creative writing pieces. My general enjoyment of English has also significantly improved ever since working with Grace. Grace is an amazing tutor. She has a genuine interest in English which really inspires me in also building a love for the subject. Whenever I have a doubt with understanding something, she will always put it in a holistic way that I am able to grasp."

"Before joining the program, my confidence levels were quite low for English where I was always worried and confused upon receiving assessment tasks and going into exams, I never felt fully prepared. The main reason I took the step to join was the extremely structured and detailed nature of the program which made me feel that my every need would be catered to alongside consistent feedback and communication with my mentor. Through working with my tutor, my confidence levels have significantly risen where I am no longer worried or immediately stressed at the thought of an English assessment task. My results have also steadily improved bolstering my overall enjoyment of English as well."

"Jessica is an amazing tutor who helped me improve so much in English throughout Year 11 and 12. She is both passionate about English, as well as extremely dedicated to her role as a tutor, always being willing to answer my questions and give feedback, even outside of lessons. Her lessons really helped me focus on improving my weaknesses, especially in crafting concise, yet sophisticated arguments for essays, as well as developing and expanding on ideas for creatives, which was something I struggled with a lot before having her has a tutor. In addition to this, Jessica has helped immensely with improving my exam technique, including deconstructing essay questions, and fluently adapting responses to harder prompts. As well as being a fantastic tutor, Jessica cares a lot about her students and was so encouraging and supportive of me, even in non-English related matters. I definitely could not have done so well in English without Jessica’s help! I highly recommend Jessica as a tutor.”

"Jess is a fantastic English tutor who helped me to both improve my marks and enjoy English again. She was the perfect tutor for me as she not only helped edit my work but also taught me content relating to my various English modules, providing me with new, critical perspectives on the texts I was studying, thus allowing me to further develop my own ideas. She also was able to identify my key weaknesses in the subject (specifically my exam technique) which we would work on together, allowing me to excel in both my hand in assignments and in my written exams. Furthermore, Jess knows the HSC system inside out and helped me to work “smart not hard” which helped me avoid burning out (this is vital in year 12). I’ve had a few English tutors in the past but ultimately Jess was my favourite and helped me achieve my band six goal in English."

"My Year 12 English experience was heavily brightened with Jessica’s help. With the difficult year of isolations and online learning, her lessons provided substantial improvements to my ability in English. Initially going into the year I had almost no confidence in my English ability and she helped to draw that confidence out and eventually receive a mark that totally exceeded my expectations in the ultimate HSC exam. Without hesitation I would recommend her teaching and examination preparation to anyone looking for help in English."

FAQs

Are your programs online or in-person?

All our programs are delivered purely online. We aim to be geographically inclusive and give you the most frictionless English tutoring experience as possible. We understand that time is incredibly precious during your final years of high school.

Our programs are also optimised for engaging and collaborative online learning - with a bespoke resource hub containing state ranking notes & 20/20 exemplars you can access from anywhere!

Do you accept students who are not currently in Year 11 or 12?

We accept students from Years 10-12 into our signature one-on-one tutoring program, The Accelerator.

Our group classes are primarily catered towards Year 12 due to their text-specific nature. In Term 3 of each academic year, we run a Year 11 Othello class.

For students in younger years, our skills-based Essay Writing Masterclass (online course) would be invaluable to building a strong foundation as a bridge into our senior programs.

If you're interested in reaching out for a student in a younger year for either weekly lessons or small-group classes, we'd still love to hear from you! We can place you on a priority waitlist for our programs, and keep you in the loop regarding resources and general English tips.

Is there the option to trial your programs?

Short answer: yes, absolutely!

We offer a three week trial for all of our group class programs. This means that if you decide the program is not for you after three weeks, you get to walk away with a full refund without paying a cent.

For our weekly private tutoring program, we also offer the opportunity to trial before committing to the term. This trial is a chance for you to match with your state ranking mentor and get a taster of every single component of the program first, so that you can make a fully informed decision about whether or not to carry on. For tailored information on next steps and pricing, get in touch here.

Do you offer a weekly payment option?

Unfortunately, no! We only accept payment by the term. This upfront commission allows us to focus on tailoring your personalised program, teaching and curating material… less time spent emailing and invoicing. Most importantly, an upfront term payment allows you to secure a place with our in-demand tutors as we have a very limited number of slots year-round.

There is however the opportunity to trial in each of our programs before deciding to go ahead for the term so you can make a fully informed decision.
